What is the Effipro 50 mg Spot-On pack for cats?

The Effipro 50 mg Spot-On for Cats, Pack of 2, contains two boxes of 4 single-dose pipettes. It includes 8 x 0.5 ml pipettes for topical application. It is a veterinary medicine containing fipronil, intended for the control of fleas and ticks in cats.

What is Effipro 50 mg in the double pack used for?

It is used to treat flea and tick infestations. A single application provides protection against new flea infestations for up to 5 weeks. Protection against ticks may last for up to 2 weeks, depending on the species.

Composition of Effipro 50 mg Spot-On

How to apply the pipettes?

1. Remove a pipette and hold it upright.
2. Part the fur at the base of the head and between the shoulders until the skin is visible.
3. Place the tip against the skin and squeeze the contents onto one or two spots.
4. Prevent the cat or other animals living with it from licking the area until it has dried.

The recommended dose is one 0.5 ml pipette per cat. Do not repeat the treatment for at least 4 weeks. Adjust the frequency according to the risk of parasites and your vet’s advice.

Which cats is it suitable for?

It is intended for cats aged 2 months and over, weighing at least 1 kg. It must not be used on sick or convalescing cats without veterinary assessment.

Possible side effects

In very rare cases, flaking, localised hair loss, itching or redness may occur. Excessive salivation, vomiting or reversible neurological signs have also been reported. Consult your vet if a reaction occurs or if the animal ingests the contents.

Important precautions

• Do not use on rabbits or on animals with hypersensitivity to fipronil or the excipients.
• Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, wounds and broken skin.
